Join the Lingathon!

Join the First Lingathon for Linguistics: 5-7 July

We are excited to announce the first-ever Lingathon, a hackathon for linguistics, organized by LOT, from July 5th to 7th. This event, now held online, is open to all MA or PhD students, regardless of their affiliation. Participants will work in teams to solve a linguistic problem over three days, with introductory workshops and a chance to present their solutions to the problem. Prizes will be awarded for the best presentation, and there is an opportunity to publish your work. Registration stays open until June 30th. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage in collaborative linguistic problem-solving!

Program

Day 1 – Friday  (5 July)

workshop (for everyone to have some shared background knowledge), teaming up and work in groups

9:45-10:00  Welcome and project introduction

10:00-10:50 The first talk given by Prof. Roberta D’Alessandro (Utrecht University)

10:50-11:40 The second talk given by Dr. Anita Slonimska (Max Plank Institute for Psycholinguistics)

11:40-12:30 Break

13:00  Creation of teams

13:00–14:00  Ice Breaker

14:00-18:00 Group work

 

Day 2 – Saturday (6 July)

9:00-16:00  Group work and preparation for a small presentation

16:00-17:45 Group presentations (5 mins presentation + 5 mins questions for each group)
